Diane had maintained retail employment for eighteen years with Mervyn’s; however, after Mervyn’s made the decision to close its Oregon stores, Diane was left without a job and no work experience outside of retail. She was looking for something that would more appropriately accommodate some of her currently existing limitations and eventually carry her to retirement. The challenge that she faced was that the jobs she was looking into required knowledge that she did not have.

Diane’s Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor sent her to DePaul Industries to determine her training options. We set Diane up with our standard, entry level Office Assistant training program. Our goal was to provide Diane with all of the essential skills that she would need in order to experience success in an entry level office position.

Diane was able to make it over many hurdles that were in front of her as a result of limited work experience. She completed her program successfully in just over 4 months.
